WILLIAMSBURG BOOK GROUP HIGHLIGHTS RESIDENT AUTHOR||April 2016
BOOK CLUB REVIEW: “Our book club selection for April was a book by a new Williamsburg resident, Eleanor Tomczyk. On April 21st, we had an incredible meeting. Not only did our group have a wonderful discussion, but we also got to meet a truly remarkable woman of strength and courage. Ms. Tomczyk’s books, Monsters’ Throwdown and Fleeing Oz, took us through a journey of her life’s experiences that many would not have been able to survive. Her courage, grace, intelligence, faith, and humor came through not only in her books but also in person. We are so happy that our hostess picked these books and introduced us to Eleanor Tomczyk.”—Debbie Abrams
“I am a teacher who writes—not a writer who teaches.”—Maya Angelou
The Author doing what she does best: telling stories that touch hearts. An hour spent with the lovely ladies of N Street Village telling humorous stories and reading from her new book Monsters’ Throwdown made this book signing in Washington, DC, which was standing room only, one of the most exhilarating times of the Author’s life.
“N Street Village serves nearly 1,400 homeless and low-income women each year. [They] are the largest provider of women-only services for D.C.’s homeless population. At the time of the 2012 point-in-time homeless count conducted by the city, N Street Village was serving over 60% of D.C.’s adult female homeless population (those unaccompanied by minor children).”—N Street Village
